The Great Day of the Lord is Near

I will utterly consume all things from off the land, saith the Lord. (Zephaniah 1:2) Ruin is coming, utter ruin; destruction from the Almighty is on its way.   Little children, keep yourselves from idols. (1 John 5:21) The servants of God all proclaim, There is no peace for the wicked. The expressions are figurative, speaking every where desolation; the land shall be left without inhabitants. The sinners to be consumed are, the professed idolaters, and those that worship Jehovah and idols, or swear to the Lord, and to Malcham. Those that think to divide their affections and worship between… read more…

More Than a Conqueror

I had a freak accident. I wanted to get up out of my chair and I shoved the ottoman in front of my chair with my left leg. Something happened in my leg. With that one movement, I pulled my quadriceps.. And listen, this was not a month ago…it was 22 months ago. I have seen a doctor, an orthopedic doctor, a chiropractor and a physical therapist. They all give me a little piece of the puzzle, but I am only a little bit better. I can’t put on my shoe or sock on my left foot and I walk… read more…

Unexpected Uses for your Essential Oils!

My favorite? Elevation for Poison Oak for the WIN! Just another example of something to KEEP ON HAND. Do you have a stash of natural, pure essential oils to use when you or someone in your family gets sick? Our great-grandparents had all kinds of knowledge about home remedies. By the way, do not put essential  oils IN your eyes or ears and only ingest d o T E R R A… read more…

I am Not Ashamed of the Gospel

A Christian friend posted the other day that she was “tired of the hate”.  By the rest of what she said, I could tell she thought no one should ever post anything that could sound negative to anyone else. That’s just not going to happen. It’s not possible to be a Christian and address the blatant sin in the world, and especially our culture and NOT sound negative. We have to do it! Maybe we need to be careful when we do speak out that we aren’t angry and let our angry tone come out in our words.  You CAN… read more…

Keep Me as the Apple of Your Eye

Keep me as the apple of  your eye; hide me in the shadow of your wings…” Psalm 17:8 You know when you look into someone’s eyes and the light is just right, you can see a tiny little image of yourself reflected in their pupils? This obscure Hebrew idiom to be the “apple of my eye” means you are their favorite, the cherished object of their affections, so precious and dear. When God looks into your eyes – the window to your soul – does He see Himself reflected back? If He does, His character has been formed in you… read more…

Faith is in the PRESENT

The land which I do give them, even the children of Israel (Joshua 1:2). God here speaks in the immediate present. It is not something He is going to do, but something He does do, this moment. So faith ever speaks. So God ever gives.  So He is meeting you today, in the present moment. This is the test of faith. So long as you are waiting for a thing, hoping for it, looking for it, you are not believing. It may be hope, it may be earnest desire, but it is not faith; for “faith is the substance of… read more…
